Description
A tribute to Odisha’s glorious maritime heritage, painted in timeless folk art.
The Boita Bandana Pattachitra Saree celebrates the age-old seafaring tradition of Odisha. Handpainted on a rich wine-purple canvas, the saree depicts the iconic Boita (traditional boat) sailing across the waters, surrounded by graceful figures, dancers and festive elements.
Inspired by the tradition of Boita Bandana, the artwork pays homage to the Sadhabas—Odisha’s ancient seafaring traders who journeyed across distant seas, carrying the culture and commerce of Kalinga with them.
The body of the saree is adorned with beautifully detailed Nartakis (dancers) framed within intricate circular motifs, interspersed with delicate traditional butis. The vibrant artwork, ornate borders and rich wine-purple base come together to create a saree that is both striking and deeply rooted in Odisha’s artistic heritage.
Every element is meticulously handpainted, making each saree a unique piece of wearable art.
